Cookbook author, nutritionist, and TV presenter Louise Keats opens her modern farmhouse to Home Beautiful.
Earthy tones and tactile materials like leather and timber create a snug effect in the living room, where a stone cladding fireplace is the focal point. In a large room, use a warm, expansive rug to tie everything together.
“Comfort and function is king when it comes to sofas, especially because we have children. I want everyone to feel like flopping on the sofa is a joyous, relaxing experience,” says Louise.
Serene Scene
With a stunning outlook and soft fabrics in neutral hues, the light-filled master bedroom is the epitome of tranquillity. Floor-to-ceiling curtains subtly shift from a smoky hue to pure white, adding visual interest and movement to the space.
“In our bedroom, the armchairs are there for our children to feel welcome to sit down and chat to us about whatever might be on their mind,” shares Louise.
Timber Tones
Opt for pieces that work double duty, such as a coffee table that lifts the style game and acts as a blank canvas for décor, foliage, or personal objects. Bonus points if it suits your colour scheme, as seen here with Jasper the long-haired cavoodle.
Raise the style stakes
This alfresco area allows for easy entertaining and gives guests a panoramic view of the gorgeous surroundings.
“We get four seasons in one day here, so our sofa needs to be able to withstand sideways rain as well as sun exposure,” explained Louise about her outdoor furniture by KING.
